In 2015, I found home in house music. Going to countless shows at Red Rocks inspired me to follow my dream and become a musician. I started building IZBO eight years ago to bridge the gap between the history of jazz vocals and the future of house beats.
It's been a fun road.
I am inspired by hip hop, jazz, bass, and house. I did not study music growing up so once I decided to pursue it as an adult, I was clueless about how to start. I booked a session at CCM Recording Studio on Colfax and recorded an Amy Winehouse cover.
I had so much fun in the studio that I decided to keep going. I pushed myself to record other genres like jazz, rap, gospel, and rock while I tried to find my unique sound as a vocalist. Here are some old recordings. Click to listen.
Finally, in 2018, it came time to write my own songs and start defining my style as a recording artist.
I released my debut single 'Hey, Little Girl' and followed it with my debut EP 'Tales from Aurora'.
Then ... I picked up DJing and quickly developed my own style on the decks leading to shows at: Cervantes, The Black Box, Cervantes Other Side, Larimer Lounge, Tennyson's Tap, Your Mom's House, Local 46, and more. In 2019, I won a local DJ competition that landed me a slot at the national music festival, Dancefestopia.
